Obituary for Mario Bustillos Saenz Sr.
Mr. Saenz passed away peacefully early Friday morning, January 28, 2022, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, at the age of 83.
He was born in May 1938, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Mariano and Helian Saenz. Mr. Mario Saenz married, the love of his life Nancy Vasquez on November 12, 1983. The two were married for nearly forty years. Mario Saenz, dedicated twenty plus years as a chemistry control man for GM - Grey Iron Plant in Saginaw. Prior to GM, he was a professional boxer and dance enthusiast. Mario loved many things in life and especially enjoyed cooking and hosting family get togethers. He is known for his stylish shaded glasses, hats, and one-liners, like “Hey, One Time”! He loved living his winters in California and his summers in Michigan. His family will miss him immensely and are very thankful for the heartfelt memories created throughout the years. Mario was a lighthearted and content man, who was cherished by many.
Mario leaves behind his beautiful wife Nancy Saenz, his siblings, Elia Del Valle, Adela Burrela, Preston (Vicky) Saenz, Ricky Saenz, and Arthur Saenz. Mario is predeceased by two brothers Ruben Saenz, Herbert (Pam) Saenz, and sister Elvia Dealmar. Left to carry on his legacy are his children, Mario (Beatrice) Saenz, Jr., Lisa Saenz, Adam Saenz, Veronica Flores (Saenz), and Michael Saenz (Nicole Jablonski), along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at the Clark Family Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant on February 12, 2022, The family will receive friends from 10 a.m until the time of the service at 12 p.m. A luncheon will follow in Reflections Reception Center.
Services will be live streamed for out-of-town guests.
