Obituary for Marjorie Jean Carr

Marjorie Jean Carr, age 74, of Harrison passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, with her family by her side.

Funeral Services for Marjorie will be held at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Eric Himelick officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. A Private Graveside Service will follow in the Mary Lou Brown Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the chapel the day of the service from 12 noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Brown Evangelistic Ministries. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Marjorie was born on January 11, 1949, in Hillsdale, MI, daughter of Merlin and Virginia (Griffith) Letherer. She married Michael Herbert Carr on December 21, 1967, in Pittsford, MI. Marjorie was a member of the Brown Evangelistic Ministries of Detroit and enjoyed fishing and wood burning art, She was gifted musically and loved to learn and play many different instruments. Marjorie also liked to use her creativity on media projects at her church and assisted with media broadcasts. She devoted her life to the Lord and spent many years volunteering for Brown Evangelistic Ministries.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Bill (Laurie) Carr of Whitmore Lake, MI, and Roxie (Paul) Mateik of Memphis, MI; three grandchildren, Lane, Justyn, and Erin Carr; siblings, Helen Jordan of HIllsdale, MI, Bonnie (Jay "Will") Tew of Pittsford, MI, Dortha (Scott) Ming of Prudenville, MI, Dora Letherer of North Adams, MI, and Earnest "Dean" Letherer of Coldwater, MI; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Michael in 2019; parents; twin sister, Mary (Clifford) South; and brother-in-law, Gerald Jordan.
