Bellinger, Marvin Gale, of Mt. Pleasant passed away at the age of 81 on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at his home with his is family by his side.
Marvin was born on May 7, 1939, the son of Lillian L. (Recker) and Cecil E. Bellinger in Lincoln Township. He married Sally A (Elkins) on June 17, 1961 at the First Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1957. He worked for Campbell & Zing from 1957 - 1963, for Elmore's from 1963 - 1982, laying floor covering in Mt. Pleasant and surrounding areas. He then decided to farm full time until he retired in 1998.
Marvin was a skilled woodworker and carpenter, building the kitchen cupboards in his home and various other items for his family and friends. He also built many farm structures with the help of numerous individuals. Even after retirement, Marvin loved farming so much that he worked part-time for Mark McDonald and thought of Mark and his co-workers as family. Marvin also spent many hours playing Solitaire on his computer.
He is survived by his wife Sally of 59½ years, his children Phillip "Scott" Bellinger of Mt. Pleasant, Sandra Goetz of New Carlisle, IN, and Melissa (Bryan) Tucker of Sodus, Ml. His brother Elton "Dean" Bellinger of Bellingham, WA, and sister Bonnie Green of Winston-Salem, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Lillian Bellinger.
Cremation has taken place. His ashes will be interred in Lincoln Township Cemetery of Isabella County. A celebration of Marvin’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the McLaren Hospice - Bay City.
