MCCANN, MARY JO, “JoJo”, our beloved aunt, sister, and friend, left us for greater glory on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, surrounded by family and friends.
A funeral celebration Mass for Mary Jo will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday May 3, 2021 at 11 a.m. A visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or The Village of Rosebush Manor.
Mary Jo was born February 13, 1937 to Aloysius and Eleanor (Marthey) McCann. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy with the class of 1954. JoJo worked for the State of Michigan in data processing and telecommunications for nearly 40 years. She lived in Grand Ledge for most of her life. She was a dedicated hospital volunteer at McLaren—Greater Lansing for more than 20 years and was a valued blood donor. JoJo enjoyed golfing, swimming, playing pool, card games, and occasionally drinking Budweiser. She loved spending time with her family and friends. JoJo moved to Rosebush Manor three years ago, where they referred to her as “the Energizer Bunny”.
JoJo is survived by her brother, William McCann, nieces and nephews Pattie (the late Greg) Baderschneider, Cathie (Denis) Cluley, Colleen (Kelly) Beltinck, Doreen Fussman, Mike Brehm, Tom Jr. (Angie) McCann, John (Kelli) McCann, Mark (Christine) McCann, Michael (Lucille) McCann, Kevin McCann, Patrick McCann, Jan Marie (Billy) Raies, and Christopher (Connie) McCann.
JoJo was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Pete McCann Sr. and Tom McCann Sr., sister Pat Zwicker; nephew Pete McCann Jr., and niece Debbie Brehm.
