Obituary

MARTIN, MARY "MAMIE", age 102, of Weidman, MI, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019, at The Laurels of Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Mary will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 5 p.m. with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Prior to that day's ceremony, family and friends will gather for a visitation beginning at 2 p.m until the time of the service. Interment will take place on Monday, March 11, at 12 p.m. in the Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Compassus Hospice with donation envelopes being available at the funeral chapel.

Mary was born on March 3, 1917, in Detroit. She was the daughter of Francis and Lillian (Ignasiak) Kaminski. Mary was married to Ray H. Fahnestock in 1946, who preceded her in death in 1977. She later remarried to Raymond Martin in 1986, who also preceded her in death in 2009. Mary worked several years for the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, and General Die Casting in Oak Park, MI. She enjoyed fishing, watching "The Price Is Right" and "Days of Our Lives" on television, visiting and playing cards with family and friends, fish frys, bingo and chicken dinners at church events, baking "goodies", winter trips to Las Vegas, car rides in the country, and sitting with her senior friends each morning at the Mt. Pleasant Kroger with a cup of coffee and donut. She was a devout Catholic and loved her parish, St. Joseph the Worker Church in Beal City, MI.

Mary was also preceded in death by her five brothers (Carl Kaminski, Joseph Kaminski, Alex Kaminski, Edward Kaminski & Roy Kaminski) and one sister (Elizabeth Kaminski Goulait). Mary "Aunt Mamie" is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a sweet, gentle and caring soul that will be missed.
