Mary Lee (Campbell) Straight, 70, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

A Memorial Mass for Mary will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Donald Henkes as celebrant. Mary will be laid to rest in St. Henry’s Cemetery in Rosebush. The family will receive friends one hour prior to mass with a rosary being said for Mary at 9:30am. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Parish, or MidMichigan Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the church.
Mary was born September 15, 1950, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Robert H. and Naomi R. (Anspach) Campbell. Mary was married to John E. Straight at Sacred Heart Church on September 4, 1970. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish. Mary worked, and eventually retired, from Central Michigan University after 12 years in their dining services. She went on to spend five years working at Maplewood of Mt. Pleasant and has many fond memories of her time there. In her retirement Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren more than anything. She enjoyed her trips to the Soaring Eagle Casino and her many nights playing cards with her family.
Mary is survived by her husband, John; two children, Scott (Dawn) Straight of Howell, Stephany (Brian) Smith of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren, Hunter, Mackenna, Frankie, McKenzie, Aysia, and Leah; five siblings, Barb Berry, Sue (Bill) Kriss, Nancy (Jeff) Walworth, Jeff (Deb) Campbell, and Dan (Tracey) Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Brother, Tim Campbell; and Brother-in-law, Ben Berry.
