Obituary for Mary Joan Wagner (Schneider)

Wagner, Mary J., age 83, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Rosebush Manor. The family would like to extend thanks to the caring staff of Rosebush Manor and the residents for being a part of their family.

A Funeral Mass for Mary will take place at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church on Thursday November 10, 2022 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Tom Held officiating. Rite of committal will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the at Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, November 9 from 4 to 8 pm with a Rosary at 7:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Rosebush Manor or St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel and St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.

Mary was born on June 16, 1939, in Lansing MI ,the daughter of Anthony and Helen (Hoyt) Schneider. She married Frank John Wagner on January 4, 1985, in Beal City. Mary worked as a Paraprofessional for the Gratiot Isabella RESD for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Mary especially loved watching family sports no matter who there was to cheer on.

Mary is survived by her sons: John (Dawn) Schafer of South Carolina and Bernard (Marilyn) Schafer of Mt. Pleasant; daughter: Mary Welsh of Mt. Pleasant; step-daughters: Theresa (Tom) Semple of OR, Sharon Gamble of Farmington MI, Julia (Douglas) Innis of CA, and Christina (Tim) Narr of MI; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sisters: Annette Thelen, Cecilia Hamilton, Cathy (Linda) Schneider , Theresa (Tom) Rinkoski, Patricia (Bill) Estelle; brothers, Paul Schneider, Robert (Brenda) Schneider; brother-in-law William Martin and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Frank Wagner; brothers Dick Schneider and Jim Schneider and Fr. Phillip Schneider, sister Lenore Baty; sister-in-laws Catherine Martin, Helen Schneider, Patricia Schneider; brother-in-laws, Hubert Schroek, Ronald Thelen and Ted Hamilton .
