Obituary for Michael Duane Bennett Sr.
BENNETT, MICHAEL DUANE, SR., age 63, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020, at his home.
Funeral Services for Michael will take place on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Rev. Doyle Perry officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Michael was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on August 25, 1957, the son of Robert and Esther (McDonald) Bennett. He worked as a security guard at the Soaring Eagle Casino and had also worked for Mayflower. Mike liked his scratch off lottery tickets, watching baseball, and was especially a fan of the Detroit Tigers. He was a proud member of Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Michael loved his family and took pride in his kids and grandkids.
Michael is survived by his children: Kyle Richardson, Eliza Peters, Michael Jackson, Patricia Jackson (Kevin Taylor), Lisa Marie Bennett, Michael Duane “Mikey” Bennett, Jr., and Heidi Berthiaume; grandchildren Tyler Jackson, Wakiza Jackson (Charity), David Bennett (Jenna), Trenton Grubaugh, Aiyana Jackson, and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers Leo Bennett, Robert “Oonie” (Genevieve) Bennett, Randy Bennett, Tim Bennett; and sisters Rhonda Bennett (Mike), and Lisa Bennett.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Jackson, parents; grandparents; grandson Ridge Jackson; and sister Roberta “Joy” Bennett.
