Obituary for Michael Boyd Morey
MOREY, MICHAEL BOYD, age 56, of Shepherd, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at his home.
Funeral Services for Mike will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Victory Christian Center in Mt. Pleasant with Tim Phelps and Kail Holmes officiating. The family will greet friends at a visitation from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 30, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Michael and Dianne Morey H.A.T.S. fund through the Mt. Pleasant Community Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.
Mike was born April 10, 1965, in Lansing, the son of Michael and Dianne (Jensen) Morey. He graduated from Vestaburg High School with the Class of 1983. Mike married Karrie Holmes on January 17, 1987, in Vestaburg. Mike was an integral part of Bandit Industries for nearly 30 years and retired in 2013. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching his trail cam. One of Mike’s favorite pastimes was sitting by the fire at the cabin in the U.P. or at the lake cabin listening to his 80’s music. More than anything, he loved his family, especially the grandbabies.
Mike is survived by his wife Karrie; daughters Jonelle (Bryan) Kryzanowicz of Sanford, Jamie (Manuel) Lopez of Weidman, son Michael Buck (Catalina) Morey of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Jas Lopez, Graysen Kryzanowicz, Michael Alfonso Morey, and Kaden Kryzanowicz; parents Michael and Dianne Morey of Mt. Pleasant; sister Michele Morey of Blanchard; grandmother Ada Morey, parents-in-law Larry and Linda Holmes of Vestaburg; brother-in-law Larry “Bub” (Joyce) Holmes of Vestaburg and uncle Louie (Sandy) Jensen.
Mike was preceded in death by his brother Mark Morey.
