Obituary for Michael Troy Walters
Michael Troy Walters, 57, passed away peacefully on February 22nd, 2024, with his family lovingly by his side.
Mike was born May 12, 1966 to Sharron Chapman Walters and Michael Walters, in Lansing, Michigan. After marrying his beloved wife, Renee Walters, Mike fathered his two sons Joshua Michael Walters and Jaycob Braxton Walters.
Mike loved the outdoors, landing his boat in hundreds of lakes around Michigan. He especially loved the Great Lakes. He spent many weekends fishing, kayaking, and four wheeling with his family. On top of all these hobbies Mike was an incredible handy man. He worked as a globally certified welder. If there was a project to be done, he was in the thick of it. Mike was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had a quick wit, wisdom for anyone who asked, and intense loyalty for those he loved.
He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who stood by his side. He will be missed dearly.
In typical Mike fashion, there will be no funeral or pomp and circumstance. He wanted only to be remembered by his loved ones over a shared story, a Red Wings game, an afternoon of watching racing, and a laugh. A celebration of life will occur in spring with details to be determined.
