Obituary for Monalee Switzer (Graham)

SWITZER, MONALEE, age 84, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Woodland Hospice House.

Funeral Services for Monalee will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Wally Hostetter officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Following burial, a luncheon will be held in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends and family beginning at 12 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Choices of Central Michigan or Widow's Might Ministries International, Inc., PO BOX 283 Lake Orion, Michigan 486361-0283. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

On November 9, 2022, Monalee went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus. Monalee was born to Orval and Edna Graham in 1937. Monalee worked as a receptionist as a co-op student in high school, in an optometrist office and then at The Delfield Company for 23 years. Monalee was known as "the voice of Delfield." Monalee married Robert "Bob" Switzer in 1956. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Susan "Suzy" Lee. After 45 years of marriage, Bob went to be with the Lord in 2002. Susan Lee married Kevin G. Doerr on August 26, 1977. Kevin and Suzy gave Bob and Monalee two grandchildren, Aaron (Christa) and Lauryn, and one great grandson, Ryker.

Monalee has been especially blessed with her sister Jean's children, Pat (Nancy) McGuirk, Peggy Moore, Colleen Shaw, and Kelly (Kurt) Keehbauch Monalee is also survived by, son-in-law, Kevin Doerr; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dick and Sue Switzer; nephew, Jamie (Kelly) Switzer; niece, MaryAnn (Dale) Kornexl.

Monalee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; daughter, Suzy; infant sister, Emogene; sister, Jean (Pat) McGuirk.

Monalee has been devoted to the Lord Jesus and was a long-time member of Mt. Pleasant Community Church. She served in hospitality, as a small group leader, baby nursery, as a host and leader of Grief share, and in the prayer ministry.

Monalee had a heart for discipleship. She is claimed by many younger women as a "Spiritual Mother." Monalee was a strong prayer warrior and spent much of her time praying for others. Monalee's heart's desire was for everyone to know that they are loved by God.
