AUSTIN, MONICA, age 93, of Lake Isabella MI, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at her home.

Monica was born on Jersey of the Channel Islands on March 15, 1929, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Maud (Poingdestre) Renee´. She loved her childhood on the Jersey Islands growing up by the sea. This transcended to enjoying the sandy Lake Michigan beaches and collecting stones. Monica loved to garden along with working in the yard which included landscaping. She had a passion for photography, especially taking pictures of nature. She had a knack for rescuing helpless animals including a blue bird that became a pet for many years. Monica did extensive research on the wonders of nature and the marvelous design of the human body. She loved studying the Bible and the hope that it provides for mankind. Monica kept all the cards she received over the years from family and friends reviewing them often to keep everyone close to her heart.
Monica is survived by her three sons: Steve (Carol) Galla, John (Beverly) Galla, Jeff (Marta) Galla; 11 grandchildren: Chris (Angi) Galla, James (Stacey) Galla, Tom (Sarah) Galla, Andrea ( Jeff) Chow, Stephany (Jacob) Patton, Nick (Jen) Galla, Adam (Alysha) Galla, Sara (Dan) Duddleston, Mike Galla, Jayson (Caroline) Galla, Heidi (Tim) Touzel; 25 great grandchildren; siblings, Ena “Skye” Halstead, Raymond (Debbie) Renee´; and many nieces and nephews.
Monica is preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, George J. Galla; husband, Robert Austin; brothers, Donald Renee´ and Bill Renee´.
