Obituary for Myrna Anne Hockin
Myrna Hockin, 83 of Farwell passed away peacefully on Sunday Oct. 6th at North Woods Nursing Center in Farwell.
Myrna was born May 27th 1936 in Durand, Mi to Fred and Helen (Jackson) Summerhays. She Graduated from Durand High School in 1954.
Myrna attended Central Michigan University and graduated in 1958 with a B.S. in English. She was married to Larry Hockin on July 12th, 1958 in Durand. Myrna taught one year in Coleman prior to coming to Farwell Area Schools in 1959 where she taught for 28 years. Myrna loved teaching and touched many lives here in Farwell.
She is survived by her 3 children, Scott Hockin of Bloomfield, NY, Kellie Renner of Farwell and Christopher “Kipp” (Lisa) Hockin of Chapel Hill, TN. Her grandchildren, Joshua Hockin, Ashleigh (Dan) Bemis, Jordan Renner, Zachary(Melanie) Hockin & Emily (Devin) Sarvaunt. 2 Great Grandchildren Reed Bemis & Anthony Hockin. Her sister Mona Ault of Standish, MI and Brother Jerry Summerhays of Tennessee.
She was predeceased by her husband Larry in 2010 and son-inlaw Brian Renner and daughter in-law Lauri Hockin.
Per Myrna wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be planned for a later date.
