Obituary for Nancy Jean Griffin
GRIFFIN, NANCY JEAN, age 82, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan.
A Memorial Service for Nancy will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating. A luncheon will follow at Island Park Pavilion. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Nancy was born October 27, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Gustave and Hattie (Diehl) Rammalaere. She married Ernest “Sam” Leroy Griffin on August 9, 1969. He preceded her in death in 2003. Nancy worked as an LPN for 30 years at Central Michigan Community Hospital and retired in 2010. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with them, especially holiday gatherings and playing cards. Nancy liked to play bingo, travel, bowl, crochet, and do her yardwork.
Nancy is survived by her children Joe (Kathy) Griffin of Coleman, Connie Griffin of Harrison, Carrie (David) Wonch of Mt. Pleasant, Steven Griffin of Mt. Pleasant, Shawn Griffin of Harrison; 8 grandchildren Jason, Heather, Kendra, Andrea, Kristi, Elissa, Tyler, Emily; great-grandchildren Isaac, Allie, Brenden, Cason, Savannah; and son-in-law Tim Lackie of Caldwell, KS.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sam; daughters Rosemary Lackie and Kellyann Griffin; and brother Jim Rammalaere.
