LANGLOIS, NANCY JO, age 67, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.
A Funeral Mass for Nancy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 16, at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal will take place in Calvary Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow in the Parish Hall. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, October 14, from 2 until 6 p.m. with a Vigil at 5:30 p.m. and on Monday, October 15, from 5 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance or Heartland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Nancy was born on November 12, 1950, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Thomas and Doris "Jean" (Johnson) Powell. She was married to David Garrett in 1968 and the two of them had four children together. She then remarried Philip Langlois in 2009. She was a very loving mother and grandmother, whose top priority was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed hosting family and friends at her home in Fort Myers, FL. She had many hobbies including sewing, cooking, traveling, and golfing. Nancy's strong faith in Christ helped carry her through her five-and-a-half year battle with ovarian cancer. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" - Philippians 4:13.
Nancy is survived by her children, Tamara (Matt) Fox of Zeeland, Angela (Sean) Goffnett of Mt. Pleasant, Amanda (Rob) Lewis of Sturgis, and David Garrett of Zeeland; 9 grandchildren, Mackenzie and Mason Fox, Hunter, Peyton, Jacob, and Lauren Goffnett, and Tyler, Addison, and Gavin Lewis; step-children, Kevin (Melissa) Langlois and Mark Langlois; step-grandchildren, Jaxson and Lauren Langlois; mother, Jean Powell; siblings, Linda (Ted) Flaugher, Terry (Char) Powell, Marylyn (Tom) Gross, Dan (Laurie) Powell, Pat (Ellen) Powell, and Karen Schafer; many nieces and nephews and former husband, David Garrett.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Langlois in 2011 and father, Thomas Powell.
