HILDERBRAND, NEAL R., age 60, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at McLaren Central Michigan.

The family will receive friends at visitation on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. There will be no formal funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Neal was born April 26, 1958, in Flora, IL to Opal and Carole (Shroyer) Hilderbrand. He was a self-employed drywall finisher and had also worked for Statewide Interiors and Greenwald Construction. Neal married Cynthia Smith on August 14, 1999 in Mt. Pleasant. He enjoyed camping, fishing, NASCAR, and was an avid reader. More than anything, he loved being a father and grandpa.

Neal is survived by his wife Cindy Hilderbrand of Mt. Pleasant; children Jamilee (Matt) Kramer, Mitchel (Catherine) Smith, Heather (Mike) Whitman, and Jesse Hilderbrand (Courtney Snyder), all of Mt. Pleasant; 7 grandchildren Brent, Chloe, Xavier, Logan, Justin, Ben, and Avieyana; his mother and stepfather Carole (Carroll) Rinehart of Mt. Pleasant; 2 brothers, Leonard Hilderbrand (Tina Stockwell) of Weidman, and Steven (Patricia) Hilderbrand of Lake; 6 sisters Carla Fitzgerald of Flora, IL, Susan Lake of Flora, IL, Pamela (Gary) Bible of Flora, IL, Debbie (Roger) Simmer of Weidman, Donna (Mark) Giffin of Mt. Pleasant, Tess (Kurt) Hartshorn of Mt. Pleasant; brothers-in-law Larry Smith and Gary Smith both of Mt. Pleasant; and his beloved dog Izzy.

Neal was preceded in death by his father Opal Hilderbrand; and grandson Donovan Bussell.
