Obituary for Patricia Luella Gorski (Gagnon)

Patricia Luella Gagnon Gorski formerly of Saginaw Michigan passed peacefully Green Acres Retirement and Memory Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant, MI. on October 8, 2020 after battle with dementia. She was born on August 27, 1936 to the late Clifford Patrick and Alice Lillian Butzin Gagnon, she graduated from Arthur Hill High School.

Our mom was a homemaker until our dad’s passing. She loved to sew, crochet, craft and bake; especially during Christmas and family birthdays. She coached her daughter’s soft ball teams and volunteered at Herig Elementary and North Intermediate Schools. Every morning you could find her sharing morning coffee and cigarettes with her very dear friend and neighbor Mary Lou Merz, who predeceased her. She worked at Meijer Bakery and Deli on Tittabawassee for 20 years, retiring in 2011. After retiring, she enjoyed going to the Casino and visiting her family in North Carolina.

She married to Robert A. Gorski in 1966, he predeceased her in 1991. She was so proud of and is survived by her daughters Kimberley S. Vipond Holcomb (Jeff), Kris A. Sterling (Mike) and Karen G. Wiles. She adored her beloved grandchildren, Michael (Megan) Sterling, Kelli (Brian) Rosen, Weston (Cassie) Vipond, Mitchell Sterling and Kelcie Wiles; her great grandchildren Mackenzie and Maci Sterling, Brendan Rosen, Ava and Windsor Vipond and her grand dog Kooper who was with her in spirit until the very end.

Our mom was a strong woman; a breast cancer and heart attack survivor. You can’t imagine the impact of dementia until you have experienced it with the one you love the most. At our mother’s request, there will be no memorial service, she will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in the hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. If you would like to make a memorial, please do so in care of Susan G. Komen Foundation or The Alzheimer’s Association.
