Obituary for Patricia Ione VanAuker
Patricia Ione VanAuker, age 65 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away August 12, 2021, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland.
Patty was born October 3, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, MI, the daughter of Ernest and Irene (Belknap) Nelson. She married Jim VanAuker on January 21, 1983. Patty spent most of her career in accounting and marketing for Giantway and Next-Door Food Stores. She grew up with horses and always had a dog at her side. Patty enjoyed reading, watching the birds and tending to her flowers. Her grandkids were some of her greatest joys, and she spent as much time with them as she could.
Patty is survived by her husband, Jim; children: Jason (Ann Marie) Myers, Ryan (Katie) VanAuker and Leah (Tony) Rau; grandchildren: Austin Myers, Josh and Noah VanAuker, Gabe and Evelyn Rau; great-grandchild: Easton Myers; and many nieces and nephews.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings Harry Nelson, Janice Coffman, Katie Denslow and Richard Nelson.
Services for Patty will take place on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will greet friends beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or a local charity of your choosing. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
