Obituary for Patricia Jayne Whitman (Nickerson)
Patricia Jayne Whitman age 86 of Harrison passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 14, 2023. Patricia was born September 12, 1936 in Marion, Michigan the daughter of Forrest and Lavina (Dingman) Nickerson. Patricia was united in marriage to Mr. Phillip Truman Whitman on July 31, 1954 in Davison, Michigan. Mr. Whitman preceded Patricia in death on March 6, 2022.
Mrs. Whitman had resided in Harrison since 2001, moving from Beaverton, Michigan and previously from Lapeer, Michigan. Patricia enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, painting and woodworking. She loved her arts and crafts and possessed an endless talent. Patricia also cooking and baking from scratch, watching movies and reading books.
Surviving Mrs. Whitman are her four loving children: Deborah Shingledecker and husband Dan of Florida, William Whitman of Harrison, Tricia Morrow of Florida and Andrea Whitman of Harrison, one daughter-in-law, Theresa Whitman of Tennessee, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Joyce Diehl of North Dakota, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family. Patricia also was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jeffrey Whitman, three sisters and four brothers.
Graveside services honoring Mrs. Whitman will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. from Meadowview Memorial Gardens, Davison, Michigan.
