Paula Jill Ridley née Sager was born November 26, 1935 to Marguerite and Paul Sager in Coldwater Michigan. She passed away April 25, 2020 at the age of 84.

A memorial service will be held at a later date due to the current pandemic. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association ( or to Green Acres Mt Pleasant 1811 E. Remus Rd Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858. Green Acres staff took excellent care of Paula and her family.

Paula was the first in her family to graduate from college. She met and fell in love with Bob Ridley as a student at Western Michigan University. They were married for 33 years until his death in 1990. She was a member of Flint Community Presbyterian Church until it closed and now is a member of Kirkridge Presbyterian in Grand Blanc.

Paula was an avid card player and at one time played for two different Bridge clubs. She loved children and enjoyed her career as a public school teacher for Flint Community Schools. She kept track of many of her former students and celebrated their successes as her own. Paula’s compassion, loyalty and approachable nature made her a good friend to many. She was easy to talk to and was a good listener. Her family and friends benefited from her patience and helpful attitude. Her legacy includes finding the strength to live a life filled with beautiful, joyful, active, laugh-‘til-you-cry moments.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert and their daughter Jill, her parents, Paul and Marguerite Sager as well as her sisters Priscilla Lebold (Floyd) and Judy Berry.

She will be sorely missed by her three children: Torre Raimer(Mike), Todd Ridley(Ann), and Tom Ridley(Nancy), her grandchildren: Brennen Raimer (Don), Curran Raimer, Sarah Ridley, Rachael Ridley, Collin Ridley and Mitch Ridley and her sister Pat Jackson (Robert).
