Obituary for Peggy Jean Phillips

Phillips, Peggy Jean, age 67, of Shepherd, passed away July 14, 2022 at her home.

Cremation has taken place at Daisy Hill Crematory in Mt. Pleasant. https://www.daisyhillcrematory.com/. A Memorial Service for Peggy will be held at Potter’s House Family Worship Center on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 2 P.M. with Pastors Ron and Carla Ives officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 P.M. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel and Potter’s House.

Peggy was born on July 28, 1954, the daughter of Harrison George McClain and Edith Adella (Husted) McClain. She married Lonny Phillips on June 22, 1986 in Punta Gorda, FL. Peggy worked as the office manager for Potter’s House and Heart Cry International for many years. She traveled all over the world on mission trips with Heart Cry International, these included trips to Africa, Guatemala and Haiti. She donated many hours at the Pregnancy Center. Peggy was an accomplished sandwich maker and always had a smile on her face. She loved hunting, fishing, camping, reading, and spending time with her husband, sisters, and grandchildren. Peggy never complained and was an inspiration to many.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 36 years, Lonny, children: Kevin (Julie) McClain, Lori (Greg) Miiller, Lisa (Bill) Maxwell and Lonna (Jay) Allen; grandchildren: Elizabeth Allen, Jacob Lusk, Zachary Lusk, Ciera (Bryan) Valentine, Cody (Paige) McClain, Joey McClain, Alisha (James) Brandon, Caleb Miiller, Bethany Miiller, Joshua (Karlee) Miiller, Andrew Miiller, Shane (Deanna) Miiller, and Nathanael Miiller; great-grandchildren: Ella, Emma, Theo, Alina, Branden, Baylee and Jayson; sisters: Merle Reisinger, Susan (Tom) Pierce, Kathy Gore, Linda Timmer; best friend Carla Ives and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Harrison (Butch) McClain and Michael McClain.
