Obituary for Philip Nick Kaninsky

KANINSKY, PHILIP NICK, age 59, of Mt. Pleasant, went to be with the Lord and his bride Lois on Friday, May 7, 2021.

Funeral services for Philip will take place on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 1 p.m. at The Pine Chapel in Blanchard with Pastor Tom Olrich officiating. Burial will take place immediately following at Blanchard Cemetery. The family will meet friends on Tuesday beginning at 12 noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Philip was born June 18, 1961, in Edmore, the son of Robert and Barbara (Siel) Kaninsky. He graduated from Montabella High School with the class of 1979 and earned his associates degree in Criminal Justice. Philip proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Philip owned and operated his own trucking company. He married Lois Allen on August 29, 1980. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2009. Philip loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a wonderful Dad and loved his kids and grandkids very much. Philip was a phenomenal cook and loved to cook and bake for people. Everyone enjoyed his cooking and his food always brought people together. Philip liked to listen to music, play guitar, and was a talented woodworker. He was a humble and generous guy who took joy in giving.

Philip is survived by his daughters Cassey Clemons of Allen, TX, Savannah (Aaron) Ross of Lake Isabella; his dog Bella; Mother Barbara Kaninsky of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Kaleigh, Markie, and Landon; brothers Robert (Kum) Kaninsky of Lewiston, MI, Stephen (Karen) Kaninsky; and sister Pamela (Daniel) Stone of Saginaw.

Philip was preceded in death by his father Robert and wife Lois.
