Obituary for Raymond William "Ray" Buyers
Raymond William Buyers, age 80, of Harrison passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Funeral Mass for Ray will be held at Saint Athanasius Church on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Father J. Marcel Portelli officiating. Rite of Burial will follow in St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow the committal service at the Harrison Moose Lodge. The family will receive friends at the church on the day of the service from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to family. Envelopes will be available at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and the church.
Ray was born on October 15, 1942, in Wayne, MI, son of William John and Claudia Elaine (Flanders) Buyers. He married Sandra Miller on July 22, 1963, in Detroit, MI. Ray owned and operated Buyers Electric, Inc. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and watching sports. He loved fishing and traveling to Florida, but most importantly, his family.
Ray is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughters, Maria Meranda of Harrison, Denise (Brian) Graves of Harrison, and Michelle (Joe) Crowe of Harrison; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Cheryln (Larry) Rand; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his son, William "Bill" Buyers on December 27, 2001.
