Obituary for Raymond Andrew "Butch" Elliott
Raymond Andrew "Butch" Elliott, age 81, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.
Memorial Services for Raymond will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 2, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. A Luncheon will follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 2nd, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella Northeast Fire Department or the Isabella County Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. Per the family's request, come dressed casual.
Raymond was born on February 10, 1941, in Saginaw, son of Raymond and Virginia (Little) Elliott. Raymond graduated from Sacred Heart Academy with the class of 1959. He married Margaretta "Marge" Berthume on December 23, 1976, in Clare. Raymond worked for the Isabella County Road Commission for 33 years, retiring in 1997. Raymond, who loved to work, began his own Excavating company, Elliott's Excavating. He enjoyed going to grandchildren's sporting events, hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, mowing lawns, and snow plowing. His grandchildren were his world.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Marge Elliott; children, Theresa (Ed) Gross, Ronald (Wendy) Elliott, and James (Marie) Elliott; grandchildren, Sarah Gross, Ryan (Shelby) Elliott, Emily Elliott, Dillen Elliott, Andrew Elliott, Bo Elliott, Ava Elliott, and Katie Elliott; sisters, Karen (Bill) Grover and Nancy Wonsey; and special aunt, Joan (Jerry) Doan.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Joseph and Irma Berthume; and siblings, Bob, Mick, Suzie, and Wayne Elliott.
