Obituary for Raymond Fisher

FISHER, RAYMOND age 83 passed away peacefully May 1, 2021 at home with his family by his side.

A Graveside service for Raymond will take place on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Denver Township Cemetery with Rev. Doyle Perry Officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Andahwod Continuing Care Community and Elder Services.

Raymond was born September 20, 1937. He was raised by Florence Kahgegab, his grandfather Norman Fisher, and aunt and uncle Simon and Dorothy Francis. Raymond married Frances Veronica Jones on March 9, 1966 in Clare. He worked for C&O Railroad until he retired. Raymond, a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, loved his wife dearly and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cards, eating jalapenos poppers from Burger King, playing slots at the casino, attending cookouts and family gatherings, watching his “Cowboys” western shows, and traveling. He was generous and loved everyone more than they would ever know. He would give his last dollar to help those in need, and he will be dearly missed.

Raymond is survived by a sister Stella (Mike) White and his children, Marci (Kevin) Magnell-Heronemus, Raymond Fisher II, Joseph (Amee) Fisher; grandchildren Nicholas, Ethan, Madison, Seth, Bela Sarah, Meredith, Ashley, Paige, Kylie, Raymond III, Joseph II, Brittany, Joshua, Megan and Manuel; great-grandchildren, Marcel, Evan, Noah, Ronin, Lucy and Miguel as well as many nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Frances of 50 years, mother Florence Kahgegab, sisters Beatrice Colwell and Regina Sprague, aunt and uncle Simon and Dorothy Francis, and Grandfather, Norman Fisher and son-in-law, Paul Magnell.
