Obituary for Richard Lee Klumpp

KLUMPP, RICHARD LEE, age 70 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones under the care of Ashley Care Center Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

A memorial service for Rick will be held at Clark Funeral Chapel, Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 12 PM with Benjamin Evers officiating. A luncheon will follow in Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to The Isabella County Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Rick was born to Robert and Renelda (Schafer) Klumpp in Mt. Pleasant on July 7, 1951. He Graduated from Beal City high school and went on to become a master electrician. He married Sharlene Myers on August 9, 1980 in Mt. Pleasant.

Rick was a jack of all trades and enjoyed using his time and many skills to help his family and friends without ever expecting anything in return. Rick enjoyed golfing and bowling, but more than anything he loved being a grandpa and great-grandpa. Rick would always spend any free time he had with his family, who meant the world to him. He loved nothing more than attending his grandchildren’s many events. On weekends you could find him enjoying time in Northern Michigan with his wife Shar, at their favorite home away from home in Alanson.

Rick is survived by his wife Sharlene of 42 years, children Ken (Joelle) Gibson, Lori Baxter (Steve Lemke), Julie (Pat) Sowle , Rob (Teri) Klumpp , Brian (Anne) Klumpp. Grandchildren; Todd, Kara (Kyle), Zachary (Justin), Kaitlyn (Creed), Tyler (Kelli), Mitchell (Caitlynn), Justin, Tyler (Alyssa), Nicole (Ben), Allison, Kristin (Brendan) and Madison. Great-grandchildren; Gabby, Bronson, Shepherd and Blaine. Brothers Doug Klumpp, Ted (Kathy) Klumpp, Greg Klumpp, Sisters Dottie (Greg) Bunting, Sandy Klumpp, Penny Gross, Karen (Kim) Rogers and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Rhonda Klumpp.
