Obituary for Robert Lee Farrell

Farrell, Robert Lee passed away on August 10, 2022 at the age of 73. His battle with serious medical issues over the years showed a strength that was provided by his faith in God and commitment to his family. Despite all he faced, he stayed strong until his passing.

Funeral Services for Bob will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 15, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Ben Evers officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service in the Receptions Reflection Center. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Memorial donations may be made to National Kidney Foundation of Michigan or Bob’s request is when you see a veteran out to eat, please purchase their meal and thank them for their service and sacrifices for our country. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Per Bob’s wishes cremation will follow his Funeral Services.

Bob was born December 16, 1948 to Robert W. and Wava (Decker) Farrell. Bob was a member of the first graduating class of Montabella Community Schools in 1967. It was there, in that one school year, that he met his wife, Linda Wood. Bob and Linda married in December 1967 and they have been devotedly married for 54 years. Bob was drafted and served in Vietnam, 1968-1970.

Over the years Bob worked several jobs until settling into his lifelong love of owning and operating his own trucking business, transporting grain, many produces and multiple different products. He was a founding member of United by Faith Christian Church in Wyman, MI. He was active as a proud military veteran serving as a member of the former Six Lakes VFW Post and presently the Lakeview VFW Post 3701. He is so proud of his grandchildren and was present for their activities whenever he was able. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing, playing Euchre and Rummy with family and friends and you never saw him reading a book other than his Bible.

Bob is survived and loved by his wife, Linda and their children, Scott (Lori) Farrell, Leigh (Tom) Wallace and Collin (Genny) Farrell and grandchildren that love him dearly. Bob is also survived by his brothers, Randy Farrell and Roger (Rhonda) Farrell and special sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and James Lindemulder.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wava; sister, Patty Ashbaugh and in-laws, Floyd and Frances Wood.

The Farrell family would like to thank you for your love and support and most of all your friendship over the years. We also express great gratitude to the staff at DaVita Dialysis Centers in Mt. Pleasant and Alma and his special home dialysis nurse Tish. Thank you to the care teams at Schnepps Senior Care and Rehab Center and Elara Caring Hospice Services for their kindness in caring for Bob in his final weeks.
