Obituary for Robert Paul "Bob" Furman
FURMAN, ROBERT “Bob” PAUL, age 88, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, at his home.
Services for Bob will be held at the VFW Hall #1075 in Harrison, MI on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 2 p.m. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Bob was born December 20, 1934, in Grand Rapids, the son of the late Charles Furman and Mabel (Sullivan) Furman-Hilyard. Bob married Iris Ferrenburg on August 29, 1989, in Mt. Pleasant, MI. He worked as a welder for over 53 years before retiring. Bob loved to work with his hands, he often was found in his garage working on a vehicle or making fishing lures and if the fish were biting Bob was catching them.
Bob is survived by his children, David (Crystal) Furman of Davidson MI, David (Robin) Abbott of Iowa, Tamara (Edward Towns) Willey of Weidman, Jefferey Willey of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, David (Virginia) Furman of Farwell; sister, Beverly (Darryl) Middleton of Clare; daughter by choice, Marge Seeley.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Iris Furman, sons, Andrew Furman, Daniel Furman; brothers, Donald Furman, Richard Furman; sister, Geraldine Pelton.
