Obituary for Robert Edmund "Bob" Goffnett
GOFFNETT, ROBERT EDMUND, age 77, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, under the care of Heartland Hospice.
A Funeral Mass for Bob will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, March 26, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Don Henkes officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Bob was born on April 5, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, son of Robert and Mabel (Angle) Goffnett. He married Margie R. Ervin on January 16, 1965. Bob was a feed salesman, working for Farm Bureau, Land O Lakes, and Riverdale Feed. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.
Bob is survived by his wife, Margie; children, Sherrie (Richard) Anderson, Theresa Henning, and Chad (Jessica) Goffnett; grandchildren, Cody Anderson, Jordyn Henning, Matthew Goffnett, and Thomas Goffnett; siblings, Marilyn Trayer, William Goffnett, Rosie Dubois, Beverly Vance, Greg Goffnett, and Karen Brown; best friend, Bill Natzel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Elwood and Elizabeth Ervin; siblings, Sharon Machuta, David Goffnett, Denise Jones, and Kevin Goffnett; and brother-in-law, Donald Ervin.
