Obituary for Robert Paul "Bob" Kepler
Robert “Bob” Paul Kepler age 73 of Harrison passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at MyMichigan Health-Midland. Robert was born February 26, 1950, in Mishawka, Indiana, the son of Francis Kepler and Gloria (Vervato) Kepler. Robert graduated from Mishawka, Indiana in 1969. Soon after his high school graduation, Mr. Kepler enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served his country for over twenty years. Following his military career, Mr. Kepler worked many years for International Paper, before retiring from his second career.
Bob had resided in Harrison since 2017, moving from Waterford, Michigan. Mr. Kepler was united in marriage to Ms. Laura Lee (Blackledge)in Houghton Lake, Michigan on March 6, 2022, at Presbyterian Kirk of the Lakes Church, Houghton Lake, Michigan. Bob was a member of Presbyterian Kirk of the Lakes Church, American Legion Post 404 of Harrison, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3541 of Harrison, Harrison Moose Lodge and Family Center #2235 and Harrison Wood Carvers Club. Bob enjoyed wood carving, especially creating heirlooms for his family, fishing and most importantly, spending time and making memories with his family.
Surviving Bob is his wife and best friend, Laura Lee Kepler, four daughters; Melissa, Brandi (Tony), Tera (Kevin) and Christie, one step-son, Michael (Amber), eight grandchildren, three sisters; Linda (Tony), Kim (Tim) and Karen, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mr. Kepler was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Gloria Kepler.
Funeral services honoring Bob will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. from Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service with Karen Blatt officiating. Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Memorial gifts in memory of Bob may be considered to: Presbyterian Kirk of the Lakes Church, American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
