Message to the Family: I graduated from Escanaba High School in '66 with Bob - he was a person you enjoyed being around. As teenagers guys & gals would hang around the beach - as we got older that wasn't the thing to do. So one day a group of us were on Aronson Island & decided to swim across the channel to the other side. Being young & thinking I was invincible, I tried to swim across. A group of teens were on the other side & Bob jumped in to rescue me - forever grateful to him. I know I would not have made it across on my own!! He was very calm & took control of the situation. I can see where he would have made an excellent state trooper!! My sincerest condolences on this fine person's passing.
