Obituary for Robert James Neeland
NEELAND, ROBERT JAMES, age 81, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.
Funeral services for Robert will be held at Central Michigan Free Methodist Church Thursday, February 11 at 12 P.M. with Rev. Gordon Houser officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 10 from 4 - 8 P.M. at the church, and from 11 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery. Those unable to attend are invited to participate via a live broadcast by visiting the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church Youtube page.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church, or Mid-Michigan Hospice.
Robert was born to Frank and Goldie (Flegel) Neeland on February 25, 1939 in Farwell. He married Shirley Tice on October 3, 1959 in Clare. He loved to hunt, fish and travel with his family. Robert worked as a 4th generation farmer for over 50 years on the same farm. He was the Isabella Township Clerk for over 20 years and a member of the Central Michigan Free Methodist Church and Farm Bureau.
Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 61 years; sons; RJ (Sue) Neeland, Ed (Julie) Neeland, and Ron (Sandy) Neeland; grandchildren, Rebecca (David) Haske, Ryan (Ashleigh) Neeland, Jordan Neeland, and Logan Neeland; and 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Nita (Ed) Edgerly of Genesee and Ruth (Bud) Messer of Gladwin.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter Rebecca.
