Obituary for Robert J. "Bob" Shaner
Shaner, Robert “Bob” J., age 80, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, at Woodland Hospice House of Mt. Pleasant.
A private family graveside service will take place at Woodland Cemetery. A memorial service for Bob will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Bob may be made to Mid-Michigan Hospice or The United Methodist Church of Rosebush.
Bob was born on September 19, 1942, in Clare, the son of Jesse Wesley Shaner and Winifred Margaret (Pasco) Shaner. He married Carolyn Lowery on January 18, 1964, in Rosebush MI. Bob worked for Dow Chemical as a multi-craftsman for many years. He is a member of the United Methodist Church of Rosebush. Bob enjoyed woodworking, going fishing, hunting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife: Carolyn Shaner of Rosebush; children: Penny (Mike) Wisney of Mt. Pleasant, Steven (Kay Hauck) Shaner of Rosebush, and Heath (Kate) Shaner of Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, infant son: Brian Shaner; brothers: Lewis, Alva, Stanley and Kenneth Shaner; sister: Donna Armstrong; and twin sister at birth.
