Obituary for Robert Louis Smit Sr.
SMIT, ROBERT LOUIS, SR., age 86, of Weidman, passed away Friday, February 7, 2020, at his home.
Robert’s wishes were to be cremated with no formal services.
Robert was born May 31, 1933, in Grand Rapids, the son of Louie and Delia (Hubka) Smit. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. Robert was a welder for 30 years at Harlo Products.
Robert is survived by his five children: Robyn (Mike) Watkins of Wyoming, MI, Terri (Terry) Reser of Lake Odessa, Michelle (Martin) Blough of Lowell, Louie (Pennie) Smit of Weidman, and Nita (Dean) Stevens; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sisters Barbara Wolfe and Laura Smit of Florida.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
