Obituary for Robin Paul "Yogi" Decker

Robin Paul “Yogi” Decker, age 40, passed away at McLaren Central Michigan on November 26, 2021. Cremation will take place at Daisy Hill Crematory.

Robin was born to Roger V. Decker and Ruth A. (Barker) Decker on March 19, 1981.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family for expenses.

Robin worked as a taxi driver for over 10 years in the Mt. Pleasant area. Stargazer transportation was his last employer. He enjoyed motorcycles and cars, especially going to drag racing track (Mt. Pleasant), mud bogs, racing R.C. cars and collecting Nascar memorabilia. He also enjoyed going to the shooting range with his friends and spending time with family. He loved traveling the U.S. and lived with his dad at times in Bradenton, FL where they often went fishing, riding motorcycle or just sight-seeing. Camping, bon-fires and time with family and friends he loved the most. Robin loved watching movies with his mom and cooking. In 2018, he developed Congestive Heart Failure.

Robin was a big-hearted man who loved everyone; he was a kind soul who gave great big hugs, and his nickname was "Yogi" given to him by his friends and co-workers who knew him well. He had a witty humor and joked a lot with everyone.

Robin is survived by his mother Ruth (Barker Decker) VanHorn and stepfather (Gerry VanHorn) of Flat Rock, Michigan; his sister Rachel Decker of Troy, MI; Stepsiblings: Michelle, Autumn, Randy and Gerry Jr.; Aunt and Uncle: Loren (Sandy) Decker of Oil City and Aunt Bonnie Bozong of Greenville and many cousins, step-nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Robin was preceded in death by his father Roger Decker; Aunt Sharon Langlois; cousin Sheila Langlois; and Uncle Dave Bozong and his grandparents.

Robin's ashes will be laid to rest with his father at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the Spring. A memorial service for Robin will be held at Potters House Family Worship Center May 26, 2022 at 1 P.M.
