Obituary for Ronald David Sauer

My husband Ronald David Sauer, age 76, passed away Saturday August 8th at Mid-Michigan Midland Hospital. He had a medical emergency that was sudden and unstoppable. A special thank you to Doctor Hanna, Clare hospital, who made quick arrangements for Ron to have emergency surgery at Midland hospital, when two surgeons did everything possible to save him. Surgeon Doctor Monica and ICU Nurse Rachel are true angels in their medical profession. Their care and compassion helped me through the most heart-breaking time of my life. Thank you to Doctor K. Patel, our family physician, and her MA Patrice Redmond, who provided excellent medical care to all their patients. Harrison and Clare need to know this. A high thank you to my best friend Karla Morché, who never left my side during my 8-hour night at my husband’s bedside in ICU. Her love and support was over and beyond.
Ron and I were the weekenders for countless weekends here in Harrison. Finding our own little get-a-way home. Leaving Bay City on Fridays and hating to leave on Sundays. After Ron’s retirement from GM Powertrain in 1998 after 30 years, we had to wait for me until 2010 before we permanently moved here. This has been our home; we both wanted and enjoyed this decision as a couple. We had years to enjoy the true out- of- doors, wildlife, and the enormous species of birds we would never find in Bay City. I am grateful and blessed to have met this wonderful man, and to have shared 36 years of the simple life that was always just here outside in our yard and property.
Besides myself, Ron will be missed and always loved by: Jeff (Tammy) Eads, a step-son that he cared and loved with a father’s love; his sister Joan(Jerry) Hummerichhouse, his brother Alan (Mryna) Sauer; the most special sister and brother in law, Joan and Tim Tacey, another close brother and sister in law; John and Karin Kubczak. One nephew, Tanner (Danielle) Tacey, Three nieces Amanda (Andrew) Tromba, Amie Hoppe, Lisa (Jeremy) Parent and several great nephews and nieces.
Our Harrison family, friends, and neighbors, James, Karla, Jeremy and Jimmy James Morché, who lovingly called him “Pops”. Don and Connie Wright, Danny Sprague, the entire Currier Family, especially Ray-Ray, The Landry/Van Sickle family, Jim and Brenda Kerley. Our friends in the Lincoln Park area, Grant, Jackie, Sue, Mike and Linda.
There will be no services or memorial, Ron’s wishes were to remember him as a part of your family and the friendships that were made. Keep those memories close to your heart. Missing you, remembering you, Loving You, Your wife, Annie.
