Obituary for Ronald Henry Horning Sr.
Ronald Henry Horning Sr, age 74, of Mount Pleasant passed away Wednesday, February 28th, 2024 at County Place of Mt. Pleasant.
Per Ronald's wishes cremation has taken place at Daisy Hill Crematory and no services are scheduled at this time. Memorial contributions in memory of Ronald may be made to the Community Christian Church of St. Johns. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.
Ronald was born on August 5th, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Franklin and Mary (Fox) Horning. He is a 1967 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Public Schools. In August of 1974, Ronald married the love of his life, Sharon Onstott, in Mt. Pleasant. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage. He worked for Federal Mogul as an engineer in their Automotive Manufacturing department, retiring after 37 years. Ronald is a past member of the Community Christian Church on St. Johns. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, camping, spending time at the cabin in Paradise, MI. Ronald's favorite scripture reading is 2 Cor. 5:14.
Ronald is survived by his children, Ronald (Lisa) Horning, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Larry Horning of Lake Isabella, Victoria Elbeialy of St. Johns and Brandon (Annette) Horning of Ithaca; 9 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sharon Horning; brothers, Gary Horning, Arnold Horning and Frank Horning.
