Obituary for Ronald Wawersik
WAWERSIK, RONALD, age 84, of Weidman, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.
Funeral Services for Ron will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 1 p.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Ron was born on the family farm in Weidman on May 31, 1938, the son of Joseph and Angeline (Weber) Wawersik. As a child and throughout his life, Ron continued farming with his family. He graduated from Beal High School with the class of 1956. Following graduation, Ron joined the U.S. Army and served from 1961-1963. He married Betty Recker on June 24, 1972, in Mt. Pleasant. Ron retired from Mt. Pleasant Public School where he worked as a custodian for over 30 years. He enjoyed small projects, farming, yardwork, and tinkering in his spare time. Ron loved watching sports, especially baseball, football, and basketball.
Ron is survived by his wife Betty Wawersik; son Roger (Dawn) Wawersik of Walled Lake, daughters Robin (Liam) Healy of Farmington, Rebecca (Josh) Wawersik-McDonald of Farmington Hills; grandchildren Austin and Adam Wawersik; step-grandchildren Regan Healy, Savannah Lee, and Kevin Lee; brother Dale (Maryann) Wawersik of Beal City; and sisters Theresa Austin of Dewitt, Shirley Meyers of Beverly Hills, FL, and Joan Faber of Shepherd.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Ken Wawersik.
