Obituary for Ruth Elizabeth Day
Ruth Elizabeth Day, age 72, of Shepherd MI, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Medilodge of Mt. Pleasant.
A Memorial Service for Ruth will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 3 p.m. with Pastor John Amstutz officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Ruth’s service will be live streamed through the Clark Family Funeral Chapel website for those who can’t attend in person. Memorial contributions may be made to the Commission on Aging Food for Friends Program and H.A.T.S. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Ruth was born June 22, 1950, in Jackson MI, the daughter of the late Robert and Joan (Trapp) Day. She graduated from Michigan Center High School in 1969 and went on to obtain her CNA certification. Ruth worked in Health Care for 50+ years. She also worked in the Commission on Aging Kitchen for 14 years. Ruth was known for her hard work and was honored with Volunteer of the Month and then Volunteer of the Year for her service at the Commission on Aging. She enjoyed playing pool and would often be found playing at the table at the Commission on Aging. Ruth Loved animals and would often work with the Humane Animal Treatment Society rescue dogs. Ruth was the former president of the Isabella County Humane Society.
Ruth is survived by her brothers, James (Gwen) Day of Stevensville, MI, Michael Day of Jackson, MI; 14 nieces and nephews; 25 great-nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Caroline Day Heath and Margaret Day Teller.
