Obituary for Ruth Wentworth (Bierschbach)

Ruth (Bierschbach) Wentworth‘s life’s journey ended on August 13, 2021 at the age of 82.

A Funeral Mass for Ruth will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic church on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Fr Loren Kalinowski officiating. Interment will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A private vigil will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Clark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Commission on Aging or Hospice of Central Michigan.

Ruth, the youngest daughter of Frank and Vera Bierschbach was born on May 16, 1939 in Isabella County, Michigan. She graduated from Beal City High School in 1957. After graduation Ruth had several interesting occupations. She worked 13 years as a legal secretary for local law firms before becoming the first box office manager at Central Michigan University; a position she held for 30 years until her retirement in 2011. Ruth worked part time at JCPenney for 19 years as a jewelry associate, for the state court administrator's office, an insurance agency and was a food demonstrator for General Mills. Ruth was a member of the International Ticketing Association and served on the board for Hospice of Central Michigan. Upon retirement she became an active volunteer for the Commission on Aging, ICDC Thrift Shop and the Central Michigan University Recreational Center.

Ruth is survived by her children; sons Scot (Karen) Wentworth and Doug (Rhonda) Wentworth both of Grand Rapids; and daughter, Laurie Potie (Emily) of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Michael and Kristin Wentworth, and Olivia and Elana Potie, sister Virginia Walton of Mt. Pleasant, nephews Dean and Dennis Schumacher, Kevin and Brian Walton, and nieces Yvonne Wezensky and Deb Campbell.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Vera Bierschbach; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Keith) Schumacher, and brother-in-law, Jack Walton
