Obituary for Sandra Lee Kappler

Sandra Lee Kappler left this world behind on the 5th of September 2021, with her family by her side.

Sandra was born on September 15, 1943, to Richard and Naomi (Pepple) VanOrden of Mt. Pleasant.

Sandra left behind her son Gary (Becky) Kappler, daughter Tammy (Jerry) Taylor, sister Joann Smith, brother Leroy VanOrden, brother Donald (Nancy) VanOrden, and her loving companion dog Hanna. Sandra also left behind her pride and joy, all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Daughters of Gary (Becky) Kappler, Khala Kappler and Nichole (Teri) Kappler, and son and daughter of Tammy (Jerry) Taylor, Nathan (Cassie) Taylor and Ahlia (Mike) Faber. Great Grandchildren, Rylee Jean, daughter of Khala Kappler, Miles and Lukas, sons of Ahlia (Mike) Faber, Mason, son of Nathan (Cassie) Taylor.

Sandra was a retired housekeeper from the Casino of 16 years. She also worked as a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn for several years. Sandra loved to go fishing and camping with her husband Leo of 54 years. Sandra loved to cook for everyone, she was a terrific cook. Sandra loved to garden and play ball with her dog Hanna and take her for rides through the countryside so Hanna could see the cows. Sandra had a heart of gold and was a very funny lady; she would always have you laughing with her little comebacks and jokes. She was a very giving lady; she would always be willing to help anyone if they needed help. Sandra was a strong and determined woman with the best sense of humor.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father Richard, mother Naomi, husband Leo, brother Wayne VanOrden, brother Lyle VanOrden, brother Mylan VanOrden, sister Wilma Cashen, and sister Elanor Smith.

Sandra was loved by all her family and friends and will be missed by many.
