Obituary for Sharon L. Mangus (Harkins)

Sharon Ann Mangus 77 of Harrison passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Sharon was born April 11, 1943 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin the daughter of Justin Harkins and Viola (Schnell) Harkins. Sharon graduated high school in 1961 from Kiel High School, Kiel, Wisconsin. She furthered her education, graduating college in 1965 with her Bachelor’s degree from Marian College.
Sharon had resided in Harrison since 1975, moving from Homestead, Florida. She retired from Kelsey Memorial Hospital in 2010 as a Phlebotomist. Sharon enjoyed sewing, crafting, diamond painting, cooking, baking, traveling, camping, watching football and reading novels and Stephen King books. She also enjoyed reading old western books.
Surviving Sharon are her two children; Richard L. Mangus and wife Patty of Farwell, Michigan and Cheryl Mangus of Harrison, one step-daughter, Teri Jo Groh of Ionia, Michigan, five grandchildren; Shawna Groh of Ionia, Jake Groh also of Ionia, Austin Mangus of Farwell, Joshua Mangus of Farwell and Ryan Mangus also of Farwell, one sister, Kathleen Williams of Waco, Texas, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, two dogs and three cats. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Richard “Dick” Harkins and Clifford Harkins and her husband, Frederick Lee Mangus.
Celebration of Life services honoring Sharon will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. Inurnment will in Riverside Cemetery, Alma, Michigan. Memorial gifts in memory of Sharon may be considered to the Mangus family.
