Ann was born on March 3rd, 1948, in El Paso, TX, daughter of the late Glenn and Ellen (Magnuson) Lewis. She graduated from Burges High School in El Paso in 1966. A few short months later on August 19, she married the love of her life Gerry Edgar. Ann and Gerry immediately jumped into Army life. She courageously took care of their infant daughter at home while Gerry was deployed to Vietnam. Ann was an extremely proud Army wife. They lived in multiple states and even moved as far as the Netherlands. In 1986 Ann & Gerry moved into their forever home in Mt. Pleasant. She made this house into a home. She loved gardening and turned what was an empty lot into a gorgeous oasis. When her girls were younger, Ann spent her time caring for them and being an immaculate housekeeper. Family dinners were very important to her and many nights were spent around the table discussing the day’s events and future plans. Ann was also a Girl Scout leader for all 4 of her daughters. When they got a little older Ann went back to college and graduated from Delta College with her Associate’s degree as a physical therapist assistant. She worked for the Mid Michigan Hospital system at their office in Harrison. Becoming a Pilates instructor and teaching regular classes was one of her proudest accomplishments. She was also a licensed massage therapist. Mom was an amazing role model and example of how hard work pays off.

Once the grandchildren started arriving, life wasn't the same for our beloved Mimi. Earning that role was her highest achievement. She made beautiful quilts for every one of the 13 grandkids. Many are still hanging on display in their rooms now. Her grandkids were her pride and joy. She loved hearing about their accomplishments and attending their activities.

After retirement, Ann and Gerry traveled frequently. Some of their favorite places being Amelia Island, FL, the Smoky Mountains and St. Lucia. Ann was a devoted CMU fan, attending every football and basketball game that she could make it to. She also was a member of P.E.O. International and enjoyed playing mah-jongg with her friends.

Ann is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gerry Edgar of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Suzy (Dan) Kuhn of Saginaw, Diane (Pete) Kumar of Saginaw, Jennifer (Dirk) Kruskamp of Clare, Rebecca (Trevor) Gingerich of Ada, MI; 13 grandchildren, Natalie, Adam and Sydney Kuhn, Nate, Nick and Evan Kumar, Dane, Dylan, Dalton and Jillian Kruskamp, Ruth, Sam and Audrey Gringerich; brother, Paul Lewis of Washington State.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister.
