Obituary for Sonja Mary Albaugh (McGuirk)
ALBAUGH, SONJA MARY (MCGUIRK), age 82, of Shepherd passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, at her home under the care of My Michigan Hospice.
Funeral Services for Sonja will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 30, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Beecher Williams from Maranatha Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Kelly Cemetery. A Luncheon will take place at the Maranatha Baptist Church following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 29, from 2 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 12 noon until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to My Michigan Hospice or Maranatha Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Sonja was born on April 18, 1939, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of James and Mary "Mamie" (Vujtech) McGuirk. Sonja graduated from Sacred Heart Academy with the class of 1957. She married Robert "Charlie" Albaugh on October 18, 1958. Sonja was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She had multiple rental homes throughout the Central Michigan area. Sonja was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, dancing, and was very outgoing.
Sonja is survived by her children, Chuck (Dorreen) Albaugh, Marjorie (Joe) Kequom, and Bill (Jill) Albaugh, all of Shepherd; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Hubble, Tomas (Amanda) Albaugh, Brooke (Chad Staton) Kequom, Lizzie (Lee) Antvelink, and Lilly Albaugh; great-grandchildren, Emma Hubble, Jaylah Kequom, and Wyatt Albaugh; brother-in-law, Joe (Diane) Albaugh of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews.
Sonja was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie in 2018; parents; brothers, Pat, Jim, and Leroy McGuirk; and sisters, Rose Marie West and JoAnn Nehrt.
