Obituary for Susan Jean Vodicka (Gibisas)

Susan Jean Vodicka, age 64, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.

Funeral Services for Susan will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 12 p.m. with Pastor Linda Drozd officiating. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. A Luncheon will immediately follow in Reflections Reception Center. Memorial contributions may be made to funeral expenses, those wishing to make a contribution may contact the funeral home directly. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Susan was born on December 25, 1958, in Chicago, IL, daughter Albert and Carol (Pilch) Gibisas. Susan was a founding member of the Mt. Pleasant Eagles #4463 since its opening in 2004. She enjoyed volunteering with the America Cancer Society, the Isabella County Soup Kitchen, and St. Jude Children's Hospital. Susan was also an avid crocheter. Susan loved all things water, especially the beach. She enjoyed spending time with her fiance (Chuck) children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Susan took every chance to travel and was anticipating a trip to Cancun. Susan was a cancer surviver and was given a second chance at life, this motivated her to make the best out of her days. Susan will be greatly missed and remembered for her charitable heart.

Susan is survived by her daughters, Jamie Gibisas of Mt. Pleasant and Angie Hunkins of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexie, Allen, Savannah, Staccia, Breanna, Kaleb, and Hugh; great-grandchildren, Amina, Ayven, Jayden, Ryland, and Ayzriel on the way; father, Albert (Elite) Gibisas of Lithuania; brothers, Richard Gibisas, Robert Gibisas, Craig Gibisas; sisters, Jodi Palmreuter, Carol Golden, and Debbie Moore, Tammy Gibisas; and many nieces and nephews.

Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Carol.
