Obituary for Thelma Wonora "Tillie" Marshall

Marshall, Thelma “Tillie” Wonora, age 96, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021, at Green Acres Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Tillie will be held Friday, June 11, at 11 a.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Benjamen Evers officiating. Light Refreshments will follow the service in the Reflections Reception Center. Interment will take place in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 10, from 5-8 p.m. and the day of the Service from 10-11 a.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.

Memorial donations will be used to assist in purchasing a memorial bench in Tillie's memory in the East Tawas City Park where many wonderful family memories were made. Please make checks payable to the C&T Marshall Revocable Living Trust. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Thelma was born April 30, 1925, in Clare, the daughter of Robert and Alice (Allison) Jackson. She graduated from Clare High School. Tillie married Charles Edward Marshall on April 21, 1944. She retired from Mt. Pleasant School System, beginning as a playground supervisor for Rosebush Schools and ending in payroll in the Administrative Building.

Tillie was family oriented and her life revolved around her family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends at the weekly Thursday Morning Breakfast Group and the monthly birthday dinners. Tillie also enjoyed traveling.

Tillie is survived by her children Diann (Steve) Cook of Mason, Rod Marshall (Nancy Keener) of Royal Oak, Kim (Phil) Seybert of Mt. Pleasant, and Tammy (Mark) Carrier of Clare; grandchildren Jamie (Mike) Daugherty, Melissa (Scott) Thorn, Trevor (Kristi) Marshall, Gavin (Kourtney) Marshall, Ashley Marshall (fiancé Craig Stone), Aaron (Veronica) Seybert, Garrett (Tricia) Seybert, Kelli (Ryan) Curtiss, Sigourney (Samuel) Rivas, Aftin (Ryan) Ruhle and Shawnna (Kurt) Finnerty; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Tillie was preceded in death by her husband Chuck Marshall on October 23, 2008; her grandson Steve Cook; her parents; and 7 siblings.
