Obituary for Theresa Agnes Maeder (Reihl)
THERESA AGNES MAEDER, age 88, of Weidman passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022, at MediLodge of Mt. Pleasant.
A Funeral Mass for Theresa will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church on Thursday, February 24, at 10 a.m. with Fr. Thomas Held officiating. Rite of Committal will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow in the Knights of Columbus Hall. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, February 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil starting at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Joseph Church and School. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.
Theresa was born on December 3, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of John and Mary (Miller) Reihl. She married Russell John Maeder on February 7, 1953, in Beal City. Theresa was a loving mother and grandmother, and loved spending time with her family. She had a heart of gold, always helped others, and was a great teacher. She was a great hostess and always said a prayer for others. Theresa loved spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens, bowling, and playing cards with the girls.
Theresa is survived by her children, Jane Ann (Elton) Atkinson and Thomas John (Judy Dora) Maeder, all of Weidman; grandchildren, Kelly (Lisa) Atkinson and Jeremy (Jodie) Atkinson; great-grandchildren, Aron (Cindy) Atkinson and Andrew Atkinson; great-great-granddaughters, Baylee and Caitlynn Atkinson; sisters-in-law, Patricia Reihl and Paula Maeder; and many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Russell in 2001; infant son; parents; great-granddaughter, Paige Atkinson.¬
