Obituary for Thomas R. Dillman

Thomas R. Dillman of Shepherd, age 69, died peacefully in his sleep at home with the love of his life Vicky by his side, on November 14, 2021.

Cremation has taken place at Daisy Hill Crematory. A Memorial Service for Tom is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Visitation will take place at the funeral chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow in the Reflections Reception Center attached to the funeral chapel. Tom was born on March 4, 1952, in Grand Rapids, to Charles and Virginia (Doughty) Dillman.
He married Vicky Thren at the Zion Lutheran Church of Mt Pleasant on June 1, 1974. They raised 3 children – Lacey, Justin and Ashlee - to adulthood, beginning in Mt. Pleasant and settling in Shepherd.

Tom was co-owner with his brother James of several “Firsts“: D&D Health Foods, Mt. Pleasant Health Club, and North Midwest Distributing. Tom and Vicky owned the Mother To Be Maternity Shop. Tom’s interest in woodworking led him to a wooden rocker manufacturing business in Tennessee with his brother Dick. Tom worked with his father in the Oil & Gas industry and later he held the office of President of Dillman Development. Tom enjoyed the childcare business Pintsize People Place, that is located in the Dillman’s Shepherd home.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 47 years: Vicky of Shepherd; his 2 daughters, 1 son and 1 grandson, whom he was extremely proud of each of them: Lacey Leonard and her son Gavin Leonard of Shepherd; Justin Dillman of NV; and Ashlee Brady of CA. Tom is also survived by his eldest brother Charles R Dillman, Jr. of FL; sister-in-law Bridget Dillman of Mt Pleasant, sister-in-law Kathy Thren-Chavez and brother-in-law Louie Chavez of CA , brother-in-law Ricky Gatten of Mt Pleasant; several cousins; nieces and nephews; friends & PPP families.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Viriginia Dillman; brother James Dillman; nephew Chad Dillman; sister-in-law Emma Dillman, brothers-in-law Ronnie Thren & Timmy Gatten; cousin David Doughty; and several aunts and uncles.
