Obituary for Thomas Allen "Allen" McKay

MCKAY, THOMAS "ALLEN", age 63, of Lake passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at the MidMichigan Medical Center in Clare.

Funeral Services for Al will be held at Weidman Baptist Church on Friday, March 8, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dean Willard officiating. Interment will follow in the North Brinton Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held back at the church following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and Weidman Baptist Church.

Al was born on September 19, 1955, in Pontiac, the son of Thomas H. Jr. and Shirley (Melton) McKay. He married Darlene Yarnell on June 12, 1993 in North Branch. Al did many things in life, but found a passion and love for being a substitute teacher at Farwell Public Schools. One of his favorite things in life was being a grandfather. Al loved to hunt, fish, spend time on the water, and doing scenic oil paintings.

Al is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Adam Short and Patrick (Mary) Smith; grandchildren, Justina Short, Mackenzie Johnson, Bailey Short, Jeremy (Kayleigh) Quezada, Corey (Shelby) Smith, Joseph Smith, Jacob Smith; great-granddaughter, Lilianna Kaye Quezada; sister, Barbara J.M. Bullen; and nephew, Travis (Candice) Bullen.

Al was preceded in death by his parents.
