Virgilene Alma McQueen, age 96, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at her home.

Funeral Services for Virgilene will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 23, at 1 p.m. with Cheryl Davis officiating. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Advantage or Isabella County Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Virgilene was born on May 14th, 1919 in Isabella County, the daughter of William and Grace (Delo) Wirick. On December 25, 1937, she married Willard S. McQueen. He preceded her in death in 1987. She enjoyed gardening, bird and wildlife watching, and loved her cats. Virgilene enjoyed attending lunch at the Winn Senior Center visiting with her friends and listening to music. She was also a great cook and loved baking.

Virgilene is survived by her son, Richard and Debra McQueen of Blanchard, son, Ken McQueen of Mt. Pleasant, daughter, Dorothy Carter of Blanchard, son, Stephen McQueen of San Antonio, TX; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband; daughter, Shirley Lint; infant son, Willard S. McQueen Jr.; and Virgilene’s siblings.
